BLESSINGS OF GOD

INTRODUCTION:
This poem has been written by “CECIL ALEXANDER”. This poem has been taken from his book “HYMANS” written for little children.

SUMMARY:
In this poem the poet says that we can feel His presence in every object of nature. Beautiful flowers, chirping birds, purple headed mountains and flowing rivers are signs of the greatness of God. The dawn, the sun rise, sun set, cool breeze and ripe fruits speak of His glory. Tall trees, meadows, grassy fields are a proof of God’s existence. He has given us eyes to see the nature and lips to admire Him. Actually He is the creator of every object small or huge. So, we should be thankful to His gifts of blessings and bounties.

CONCLUSION:
In short, the poet has described the greatness of the creator of this universe.



A NATION STRENGHT

INTRODUCTION:
This poem has been written by “EMERSON”. He was the poet of nature. He believed in mystic idealism.

SUMMARY:
In this poem the poet says that it is not gold but only men, who can build the pillars of the nation up to the sky. They do not care for personal loss or sacrifice. They are not fond of name or fame. They do not eat humble pie before any one. They stands by the nation in the time of ship-wrecked. They work while other sleep. They burn a midnight oil. They fight for the cause of truth and honors, while other shows a clean pair of heal.

CONCLUSION:
Actually, the poet is of the opinion that wealth or money are the secondary things. It is the sense of dignity of work suffering and sacrifice which makes a nation truly great.


THE CHARACTER OF A HAPPY LIFE

INTRODUCTION:
This beautiful poem has been written by “HENRY WOTTON”.

SUMMARY:
In this poem the poet describes the qualities of a real happy man. He says that a real happy man is educated, truthful and honest in his thoughts. He dislikes flattery and likes the company of good friends and religious books. He remains ready to face the death. His passions are always under his control, He does not care for personal problems and he is not fond of name or fame. He does not indulge himself in useless activities. He has less hopes and minimum fears. He hopes or fears neither to rise nor to fall. He thinks good, does good and follows well. He owes nothing in material but is the lord of himself.

CONCLUSION:
In short, the poet wants to tell us that happy is a person who is born and educated, and does not become a slave of others. His strength is his honest thought and remains truthful in his conduct and behavior.


FRAGMENT

INTRODUCTION:
This poem “FRAGMNET” has been written by “H.W LONG FELLOW”. He is a renowned English poet. He has a mystic and spiritual touch in his poetry.

SUMMARY:
In this poem the poet throws light on the importance of early rising. He says that early in the morning, the blessings of Allah are being showered on early risers. For this purpose, the angels are knocking at every body’s door. They are in hurry. If they departed once never came again. From this we can understand the importance of early rising. Early rising gives benefit both materially and spiritually. If we wake up early in the morning, we have an opportunity to fill our lungs with fresh air. We remain energetic through out the day.


A LITTLE WORD

INTRODUCTION:
In this poem we come to know that we should always think before to speak our words can either heart or break a heart.

SUMMARY:
In this beautiful lyrical poem, we come to know that a little word of love and a little word of kindness can make our world a heaven. We should always be kind and sincere to every one, which can change our world. A beautiful smiling look can crush our sorrows. It can heal once hounds and make him happy. A little word of love and sympathy can enlighten the darkest road of once life. A little word of sympathy can make a mighty ocean and make a pleasant land. Similarly we should not be so aggressive in our temperament because it can hurt anyone and could break his heart. So, we should be very thankful and choosy in our words. In this way we can win the hearts of others.


MY MOTHER

INTRODUCTION:
This is a beautiful poem about sensitive topics of mother and child. Mother is the most elegant, prettier and great personality of the world. In this lovely poem poetess “ANN TAYLOR” expresses her sentiments about mother.


SUMMARY:
In this lovely poem poetess “ANN TAYLOR” expresses her deep love for mother. She is telling that her mother was always with her. She was sleeping or awaking mother dressed her with nice clothes. She played with her and attentively listened what she said. Mother told her nice stories and loved her when she fell and huts herself. These is no end of love and care that mother has given to her when she was a small child. Poetess feels when her mother will be old feeble and weak. It is her duty to look after her and comfort her with her strong healthy arms. She thinks she will treat her with great love and care.
